Jay’s flight simulator experience can be dated back to the original Pacific West Airways where he held such titles as ATP Captain and Vice President of New York/Kennedy Operations. He has logged well over 3,000 virtual airline flight hours since then and is well versed with Vatsim.
The vision of a new Pacific West Airways started with Jay. After the initial closure of PWA, Jay found himself unable to find a suitable virtual airline to fulfill his aviation needs. The desire to bring back a once very popular and respected virtual airline finally became a reality in late 2008 thanks to the initiative of a long time member.
The mastermind behind the new Pacific West logo and textures, Shane is also the creator of Pacific West’s subsidiary, Paradise Airways. He is another original PWA pilot who did not hesitate to have a major role in the resurrection of Pacific West.
Shane’s dedication to PWA has resulted in the finest and most authentic virtual airline liveries available. With plenty of different varieties to choose from you will never get bored with the same one.
Steven joins us having served as a staff member with the original PWA, together with Jay McFerdy. With his background in managing multiple hubs for PWA in the past, Steven was the perfect fit for our San Francisco office, which is also serving as our headquarter.
He brings with him many hours of VATSIM and multiplayer experience. Not only will he serve as our San Francisco Hub Director, he will also be a mentor in guiding PWA and in particular, the San Francisco Hub back towards online success.
Mark has been flying virtual and controlling since 1999, back when VATSIM was referred to as SATCO. Mark is currently enrolled in the FAA CTI program for Air Traffic Control in Sacramento, CA where he anticipates graduating in December of 2011, with a side study in Commercial Pilot and Aircraft Dispatching.
He is very excited to be the running point for a brand new program for Pacific West Airways, as the smaller commuter flights are his speciality.
Sebastian joined German Airways in 2006 and was promoted to Painting Director for the airline back in 2009. He received his the first Flight Simulator in 1994, but only started serious flying in 2006, when he joined GEW. As a German Airways partner, he recently joined Pacific West Airways as the Director for the Boston Hub, so both airlines could further strengthen their codeshare relationship.
In the real world, Sebastian has most recently completed his Bachelors degree in Urban Planning and has already started work in pursuit of his Master degree.
Sammy Holmes of Laurel, MD joins the PWA management team as the Director of Miami Hub Operations. Sammy’s simulator experience dates back to 2004. He has held various key role positions which have greatly enhanced fellow simmers online experience. He brings with him a great deal of knowledge both real world and in simulation.
Over the past 6 years Sammy has accumulated over 1800 hours of flight time on the VATSIM network. Sammy’s real world experience includes working as a Flight Line Supervisor for Signature Flight Support at KBWI (Baltimore) for 5 years.
Those talents followed him to his current career in the U.S. Navy where he is a member of the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron Blue Angels. Sammy currently resides at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. Sammy is a welcome addition to the PWA team and we look forward to many positive things from the Miami Hub.
